webAI film: the Target store dashboard on an iPad, with live parking lot and aisle cameras and staffing suggestions

The challenge

Every Target store has hundreds of cameras. Almost all of them only watch for theft.

webAI builds AI that runs on the devices a business already owns. For Target, its software runs on Apple hardware in the store, on iPad, iMac and Mac mini, and reads the existing camera feeds live to help staff serve guests and plan the day, not just to catch shoplifters.

The film had to show AI looking at store cameras without it feeling like surveillance. It needed to make the benefit obvious in a few seconds, show the product on Apple devices, and land the privacy promise clearly.

The idea

Start with the cameras that are already there, and ask what else they could see.

The film opens on the webAI mark, then on the cameras: hundreds in every Target store, most of them there for loss prevention. A “see more” cue reframes them. Now the same footage shows a guest who is looking for help, and a parking lot filling up before checkout gets slammed, each moment framed like a camera view.

From there the product takes over on an iMac, an iPad and a Mac mini: live camera feeds and suggestions that help every guest feel seen and every visit feel joyful. Managers see the rush coming, and a team member knows what a guest came in for. It closes on the promise: all of it runs on Target’s own hardware, and the footage never leaves the store.
